Instructions for Flaming Nora our beautiful pizza oven


Use only sticks and paper to start the fire (firelighters will contaminate the floor and stink up your pizza)

Set your fire just inside the oven and let it take. As the fire grows add wood slowly starting with thin logs and gradually increasing to the thickness of your arm. (do not use conifer or any evergreen wood as they spark and release disgusting sap which do not taste good as a topping!!) Oh and do not use any treated timber also, except maybe the small sticks when lighting.

After about an hour carefully push the fire back into the oven leaving it for about 10 mins at a time until you have the fire burning in the position you desire, this process heats the floor of the oven and should take about 2 hours total.

The oven is very deep and it is not really necessary to have the fire right at the back.

All the tools are above your head you might want to get hold of a brush to remove ash.

CAREFUL.. the oven gets very hot you will loose eyebrows and hair if you put your face to close, this is what happened me and was not a result of aging!!
also do not leave oven unattended when finished cooking put the door on and keep small kids away.
